Personal Budget Worksheet

The Personal Budget Worksheet is a simple budget planning tool. I've designed it to help a single person identify all the places their money gets spent. You'll be amazed when you begin actually writing it all down.

This worksheet is based on the form I use each year to do my own budget planning. I’ve tried to make it useful for other people by thinking of every possible expense that anyone would ever have (!) but I’m sure I’ve missed something that’s important to your budget. So just in case, I’ve left several blank spaces at the end for you to fill in.

You’ll need Adobe Reader (the latest version is recommended) installed on your computer in order to open, view or print the worksheet. You can get Adobe Reader here (a new window will open so you can download it without leaving this page). No worries -- it's free.

Once you’ve downloaded Adobe, just click on the link above to open the file and view or print the worksheet.

If you would like to save it to work with later, just right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As" or "Save File As." Then select where you want to save the file on your hard drive. I suggest making a folder named "budget" and saving all pertinent files there. When you're ready to use it, find the file where you've saved it and just double click on the file to open it.

It's that simple. When you have your worksheet, return to Making a Budget for help in getting started on the first step of your budgeting journey.
